Miss Soweto Ayobamise women's potential!
The true spirit of Africa is no better characterised than through the grace, elegance and faces of its women, the caregivers, nurturers and mothers of this beautiful continent, and what better way to honour the women of South Africa than to celebrate them.
At MTN the development and empowerment of women within South African communities and society is an ongoing goal and permeates throughout many of the sponsorship and partnership decisions the company makes. It is against this backdrop that the mobile giant has taken the strategic decision to add the Miss Soweto beauty pageant to its growing arsenal of lifestyle partnerships.
“While much still remains to be done in the search for gender equality MTN strives to create opportunities that promote the empowerment of our women. By partnering with the Crowing of Miss Soweto pageant we aim to further this notion by celebrating the young women who themselves are the role models for South Africa’s youth, our future,” said Veli Mabena, General Manager of Brand Communications at MTN SA speaking at the launch of its latest lifestyle agreement as financial sponsor of Crowning Miss Soweto, at MTN headquarters.
The pageant will now be known by the name “The Crowning of Miss Soweto brought to you by MTN”, and the company has committed to working with organisers and sponsors to ensure the highest calibre event. This will include the selection of top class judges from industry and the media, as well as the overall organisation of the event to ensure that it meets and exceeds world-class standards.
